Graduations and Garden Inspiration

Summer has officially arrived. My middle school, high school and college friends’ “children”are graduating from high school, which is humbling to comprehend. I honestly don’t know where the time went!

Congratulations to Zander, Parker and Downing, to name a few! We are all so proud of you and your hard work. Best wishes for the most amazing futures!

Beach and lake trips, longer days and more time outside. For that, I am incredibly grateful!

Oh, and let’s not forget the golden sunsets! They are enough to stop you in your tracks, breathe deeply and appreciate every moment.

The other beautiful and welcoming side of summer is fresh produce from lush and local gardens.

I don’t have a garden, myself, but I had the pleasure of seeing one of my best friends this week and she gave me a tour of her amazing garden.

It is already beginning to produce baby eggplants, gorgeous thyme and basil, red cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and green bell peppers. I intend to visit the garden more often and help her “tend” to it by picking what I can to take home with me. I do love to help when needed!

Hopefully, I will have some new recipes to share from the treasures I’ll score from Meredith’s garden, very soon! In the meantime, enjoy the start of the most joyous and relaxing time of year! Be sure to take a moment to pause and breathe it all in…

You are more than welcome to come join me in the garden and give me some inspirations of what to do with all this produce. They come off 20 at a time…sometimes more. It can be overwhelming of what to do with all of it. Please come help me make sauce, pickle cukes, stuff peppers, jar salsa and fry up some eggplant parm. We can curate some amazing new recipes together….love you girl!!!!
